Please tell the release of Ubuntu you are using...

Then please also be sure your distribution is fully upgraded.... so:

Please open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

Then please also try to reinstall purging setting Brasero still from terminal type or better copy and paste from here to terminal:

sudo apt-get --reinstall --purge install brasero
sudo apt-get clean

Then check your free space type:

df -h

Hope this helps
