How slow can brasero be?

Asked by ricardisimo

I regularly try using brasero, only to cancel it or interrupt it a half-hour later when it still claims to be preparing files... normalizing them or something else. Mind you, when I stop it, it still hasn't even begun the actual burning process; the disc is untouched. What gives?

K3B, by comparison, starts actually burning my discs within 30 seconds at the absolute latest. Something is definitely wrong with brasero. Should I file a bug report? What information do I need to include? Is there a debugging varietal of brasero that would answer questions? Thank you for your attention to this.

Might be some plugin try to normalize the volume of mp3 or sound music before burn it to cd...

Please check if there is any active plugin in Brasero menu Edit → Plugin
i think you will find "Normalize" plugin active, please uncheck it and retry.

Hope this helps

You should also tell brasro to burn straight to the disk rather than making an image. The defaults flat suck (as with most of ubuntu)

Can you help with this problem?
