What format is the file that you are attempting to play? Normally commercial DVD players require MPEG2 streams.

Thank you for your help. The file I burned is a MPEG (not 2). It is this format the software fricord recorded on my computer. My English is very bad, excuse me, please...

Here is an article that describes the way I burn my DVDs: http://www.linux.com/news/software/multimedia/8250-convert-any-video-file-to-dvd-with-open-source-tools. It describes how to convert to the MPEG2 and AC3 streams needed to be compatible with DVD and how to make an iso using dvdauthor (a great program in my opinion). If you want you could just try converting the file to MPEG2/AC3 and then try burning with Brasero (I dont see why that would not work).

Let us know if you need any more help.

Thank you... unfortunately I don't know how to use the indicated commands. I must use the "terminal", I presume ?

Yes, the tutorial I showed you would require the use of the terminal (which can be found in Applications->Accessories->Terminal.

I have been very very slow to successfully convert my file mpg in mpg2 because I had no idea at all to use the terminal and I was forced to do extensive testing because I make mistakes every time...
Finally, I suppose I succeeded because the terminal worked half an hour and my file that was called "Vincent.mpg" is now called "Vincent.mpg2"
I burned directly with Brasero (I have not the software DVDAuthor) but unfortunately my player Sony still refuse to read the file ...
