Brasero: not able to burn a cd

Asked by peter

Hi

I installed Brasero. But I'm not able to burn a cd.

If I click Burn image the drive is not supported (the field is empty). And the status is mentioned as: the medium is not writable with the current set of plugins. I checked Synaptic, but I don't have additional plugins to install.

But the drive is supported if I click Disc Copy.

Can you help? Thanks a lot.
Peter

Maybe a dumb question, but is there an empty CD in the drive ?

What kind of image are you trying to burn?

Yep an empty CD was in the drive. I tried to burn an ISO image. Thanks.

Luckily Ubuntu can automatically write an ISO to disc. When you insert your CD into the drive, go to the ISO, and right-click --> write to disc.

Hope I've helped! :-) Brasero's been buggy for me lately, too, so I've been using GnomeBaker.

Awesome, Peter. I'm glad everything works now. If you wouldn't mind, would you mark that I've solved this?

No big deal, though. :P
