I loaded version 0.8.4 of Brasero as recommended in another bug report. Brasero now works as expected. I can burn data to a CDR and leave it open to add files at a later date.

As an alternative I have also started using a pair of USB flash drives to back up data.

fyi-With the new version of Brasero I was not able to add data to any multisession CDR burned on a previous version of Brasero. To get v0.8.4 to work I had to start with a fresh CDR and select the "Leave the disc open to add files later option" from Properties at the time of initial burning.

If you still have access to an XP machine I found that I could add data using the default XP burner to CDR's that I had started with earlier versions of Brasero but that were giving me an error message (in Intrepid Ibex) that the disc was full.

None of these issues occurred when I tried using a USB thumb drive to back up data.

Can you help with this problem?
