Kindly help how to write ISO image of Ubuntu 10.10, and what is the error

Asked by Rohith Kumar

I downloaded Ubuntu 10.10 ISO, and even did check the ISO image, with MD5.
59d15a16ce90c8ee97fa7c211b7673a8 *ubuntu-10.10-desktop-i386.iso,

I did get the terminal result.

desktop:~/Downloads$ md5sum ubuntu-10.10-desktop-i386.iso
59d15a16ce90c8ee97fa7c211b7673a8 ubuntu-10.10-desktop-i386.iso
rohit@rohit-desktop:~/Downloads$

Which shows my ISO image is fine. I tried to burn the ISO image to CD using Brasero. But at the end the result showed some Error log, which I pasted below.

When I rebooted my CD, it showed error, that it can run or something, which I couldn't note down.

Later I tried Unetbootin to make a bootable USB. When I again rebooted using USB, it showed this
"SYSLINUX 3.63 Debian-2008-07-15 EBIOS COPYRIGHT(C) 1994-2008 H. PETER ANVIN
BOOT:

And it the system hug their itself, even if I tried Enter key or any, nothing was working..

The Brasero CD writing software showed the below error log, from which even the CD is not working. Now please help me what to do with this ISO when MD5 Checksum resulted that ISO is fine. Even Unetbootin did fine job making my USB copy the installation files, and probably bootable USB.

Now please help me what to do..

Is this solution works,
http://alexsleat.co.uk/2010/11/27/how-to-fix-unknown-keyword-in-configuration-file-ubuntu-usb-boot/

And inside that syslinux.cfg file I had this text.

_____________________________________________________________
# D-I config version 2.0
include menu.cfg
default vesamenu.c32
prompt 0
timeout 50

# If you would like to use the new menu and be presented with the option to install or run from USB at startup, remove # from the following line. This line was commented out (by request of many) to allow the old menu to be presented and to enable booting straight into the Live Environment!
# ui gfxboot bootlogo
______________________________________________________________________________________

Should I remove the line # ui gfxboot bootlogo, as the link says, or is their any solution.

Please help,
Rohit

If you want to use USB, install unetbootin and you can point the app to the ISO you have downloaded. Thanks for testing it too. Many don't and it's very annoying when they get issue due to bad data which can easily be avoided. Bravo sir!

Is their no solution with USB :(. only option is to try to burn on CD.. I will try both Enrico suggested K3B, and xfburn as well, but when USB can be used if we find the solution for it. Than why can't I do that. :(
