Does it happen with GnomeBaker?

I installed GnomeBaker, but I saw no option for making a video DVD, so I didn't use it.

If you use devede you can make a video dvd from video clips. It will make a standard DVD ISO which you can then burn using any burner

I tried devede, but found it even less user-friendly than Brasero. Dragging and dropping files didn't even work, the way I tried it. Are you saying to do it in 3 steps (use devede to make a DVD, use that DVD to make an .iso file, and then use Brasero to burn a DVD)? If so, what's wrong with the DVD that devede makes? Or are you saying to do it in 2 steps (use devede to make an .iso file, and then use Brasero to burn a DVD)? If so, what's wrong with using devede to make the DVD)?

I made an .iso file out of an .mpg file using DeVeDe. After renaming the file from "movie.iso" to "Brooke Richards.iso," I then tried to drag and drop it in Brasero and got the message ""Brooke Richards.iso" could not be opened. "Brooke Richards.iso" is not suitable for audio or video media." In DeVeDe, I had adjusted the disk usage from 17% to 26%.

Could this possibly be a bug in Brasero?

Launch brasero from terminal and run through a normal burn, copy the text to gedit then run:

ubuntu-bug brasero

Log the bugs and copy the outpupt into the bug

Can you help with this problem?
