error when burning data dvd

Asked by Peter Johnson

When trying to burn a data dvd it ejects the media before starting the burn. When the checksum is finished it shwitches to burn, right under the progress bar it says eject media. The dvd drive tray opens and then it gives an unknown error. I have tried this with cd/dvd creator and brassero and get the same error. I have also changed the dvd drive (Asus and HP). Why is it ejecting the media before burning, and how do I make it stop?

Found the problem. Doh! Two cooling fans went out and the system is overheating. One in the power supply and one at the front of the system. Kind of a wierd error though.
