is it similar to this:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/504455

?

You can also try at command line:

wodim -vv dev=/dev/cdrw blank=all
or
wodim -vv dev=/dev/dvdrw blank=all

To blank the media at command line.

Then please take a look at this bug → https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udev/+bug/581925

For people who are affected by this and are using 10.04: Can you please add my "sru-test" PPA at

  https://launchpad.net/~pitti/+archive/sru-test

and upgrade to the udev there? This should fix the issue. Can you please give me the output of "sudo /lib/udev/cdrom_id --debug /dev/sr0" again, together with a description of the media type you inserted? (even if it works, to confirm that everything looks like it should)

Thanks!

Can you help with this problem?
