dvd not burning to disc

I have ubuntu 10.04. I burned a movie and decoded it and then the first time I burned it to a dvd it did, but would not play in my dvd player or xbox. It only worked on my computer. I use thoggen to burn and to put the dvd i burned onto an blank dvd. Then I tried using brasero and it copied the dvd and then when i put in the blank dvd when it finished said that it cant work? Any that can help me take a movie from the store burn it and then move to blank dvd?

Use devede to encode the movie to DVD. You can then burn the resulting ISO to a DVD. Make sure you burn the ISO as SLOWLY as you are allowed.
