blank cd-rw:not enough space

Asked by David Bradford

I'm trying to start a project in BRASERO.

When I choose Audio CD or Data CD across the bottom of the screen I get the message "Blank CD-RW Disk: Not enough space"

Even including small files causes the space indicator to turn red.

Can anyone offer help?

Try using gnomebaker

Many thanks for taking the trouble to reply.

However, I've discovered K3B which seems to work well, so I think I'll go with that.

That's fine. K3b is KDE based so you will have instaled a lot of Qt ibs to satisfy deps. Please mark as solved if you are satisfied with the result.

Hi all.

I guess I have to re-open this question.
I am having exactly the same issue than David B.
I did the following tests under my ubuntu Lucid 10.04, kernel 2.6.32-26-generic, Gnome 2.30.2.

- NOK: When trying to burn using my HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8400B device, Nautilus and Brasero both fail. They report a "Not enough space" message.

- OK: When trying to burn the same Data project onto the same blank CD but with my other device, Nautilus and Brasero work fine.

- OK: When trying to burn the same Data project onto the same blank CD using the same device CD-RW GCE-8400B, K3B works fine !

So I guess the problem is somehow linked to the CD-RW device which is not correctly supported by Nautilus and Brasero.

BR,
Daluis

I also discovered that my old tdk burner would not let me burn even one song to an audio disc using brasero (worked fine using kde) but when I used a different burner, brasero had no problem burning a full disc of audio.
