Brasero wants cdrdao to be installed, but it is.

Asked by John Winterton

When I ask Brasero to copy a disk to an image file, it insists that cdrdao is not installed. I checked with synaptic which has cdrdao marked as installed. So I reinstalled it.

I have been having various problems with Brasero for some time. The installed version is: 2.30.2-0ubuntu1

I am running UBUNTU 10.04 with current updates.

I have a manual work-around to do my task another way, but Brasero should be fixed. This is getting annoying.
