Low res BOINC icons in launcher and window switcher

Asked by Jesse Otto

The BOINC icon is low resolution. There are very nice bitmaps on the Berkley website. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/logo.php There is a 48 x 48 and a 128 x 128 icon available. I considered creating a bug for this, but perhaps it is a feature request.

create a bug -- the package should ship higher resolution artwork, or request/find a logo SVG from the BOINC project (the SVGs there seemed to only be for the large logo, which had less artistic detail).

I could not find an SVG, but I decided to try my hand at tracing a bitmap in Inkscape, using the 512 x 512 tiff files on that site. I think it looks good, but I do not know if it fits the criteria as I could not find the specifications for an SVG icon file. I used 60 scans and the file is 285kb. I can upload somewhere if you like. Thanks.

I suppose it is not that important since it appears that the Precise package already has a nice 256 x 256 ico file, and 48, 32 and 16 square png files. Maybe the maintainer does not want an SVG.

Can you help with this problem?
