how to install Blackmagic bmusb

Asked by Maurice Butler

HI,

I am trying to get a Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle USB setup for video capture on Ubuntu 18.04LTS
Searching I have found libbmusb5 and Package libbmusb-dev.

 Here https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=bmusb&searchon=all&suite=stable&section=all

How do I get them installed?

Are you running Ubuntu or Debian as your operating system?

If it is Ubuntu, then you should check https://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=bmusb which shows that for Ubuntu bionic there is libbmusb4

If you are running Debian, then you are wrong here, because this is Support for Ubuntu and not for Debian

To install the related packages on Ubuntu just use the package management commands, e.g.
sudo apt install libbmusb-dev

https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/libbmusb-dev

It's in Bionic in the Universe repo

So what do I do now?
Is there a webpage that tells me how to install package?

Just use the package management system on Ubuntu to install the package.
I already gave the command to execute in a terminal window:

sudo apt install libbmusb-dev
