How do I get bluetooth working on maverick meerkat (10.10)?

Asked by Cyrus Harmon

I used to use the kbluetooth widget to get bluetooth running under lucid lynx. This no longer seems to work for maverick meerkat. A simple guide on connecting bluetooth mice and keyboards under maverick meerkat would be greatly appreciated.

Maverick is in its first alpha, it is in NO WAY ready for use. All you can do is log a bug to get it resolved. You will have to then wait for a resolve by the devs (or fix it yourself).

a LOT of Maverick may not work and the Alpha is so that users can log bugs and identify issues. If you actually want a working system I suggest you format and reinstall Lucid.

As of 2010-06-16, bluetooth is working in maverick meerkat. I had to use the blueman bluetooth manager, but was able to successfully pair my keyboard (and the mouse that I had previously paired under lynx started working again automagically). Moreover, this keyboard (apple wireless keyboard) wasn't supported under the old lynx bluetooth setup, so kudos to the bluez (?) folks for making this work. Also, the ready for use. All you can do is log a bug to get it resolved. You will have to then wait for a resolve by the devs (or fix it yourself). Also, the touch scrolling on the apple magic mouse is now supported as well. Thanks!!!
