Blender has no color management on jammy

Asked by Ted Llewellyn

In Ubuntu studio 20.04 blender 2.8 has the filmic and other view transforms in scene properties. After upgrading to 22.04 I have blender 3.0.1 and the only transform is standard. So color management is gone. Running straight from the usb has the same issue. Is the package broken?

You could try a newer version from the snap store 3.2 version.
The drop down box also includes the 2.8 version you previously had.
Some previously installed non default packages mess up after a Ubuntu upgrade.

Sorry, "upgrade" is imprecise. I replaced my Ubuntu Studio 20.04 with 22.04. The whole disk; I still have the old system and installed the new version on a new disk. So no one else has reported this? I was thinking of trying a newer version, but I thought I'd ask since it's possible it's my PC. The blender docs don't say anything about system dependencies for that part of the system but who knows?

All the dependencies are included with in each snap package.
Think of it as a container with everything included.
I looked through the bug reports nothing the same as you mentioned.
On Ubuntu Studio/ Blender is a default package. I was wrong above.
And that would be a snap package that is easy to install and uninstall.

You could make a bug report for the blender snap package.
Open a terminal: type: ubuntu-bug blender
