I wish to use bleachbit from the terminal command but my research led me to an out dated command line

Asked by William Gamache

I am using Ubuntu 11.10 on a gateway 6020gz laptop.... I tried the command line in terminal " bleachbit " then when the help screen came up I could use the command " Bleachbit -l " and get the list of cleaners but could not get the command " bleachbit -d " to work... I know I am probably not using the commands right... I am not computer savy on this like I was on the old windows dos...Any kind of walk through would really be appreciated on how this works to clean from the terminal...

you can access the help pages for bleachbit by typing the following in terminal

bleachbit --help

to get to the man pages
man bleachbit

and then their website has a help page for cli usage
http://bleachbit.sourceforge.net/documentation/command-line

If you run:

bleachbit

You can run it as your user and clean up your $HOME. You will need to run:

gksudo bleachbit

To clean p the folders outside your home
