As long as you have the headers for the kernel I dont see why not

According to the documentation of the software, it is tested only for kernel versions up to 3.7.x
see https://upc-bugs.lbl.gov/blcr/doc/html/FAQ.html

There is a bclr 0.8.6 beta version on https://upc-bugs.lbl.gov/blcr-dist/ with the README telling
Bug fix + Correct operation confirmed with 3.17.x kernels
Still far from 4.4

I assume that this is something which Berkeley Labs has to solve.

Thank you for the answers.
Of course I have tried to build blcr. Without success because of the kernel version check in the blcr sources. But there are other parts of blcr besides the kernel module which are available in the official repository or launchpad for distributives initially using newer kernels. So I hoped someone succeeded in the kernel module as well.

Can you help with this problem?
