Missing shared libraries for BFD and opcodes

Is there any reason why binutils-avr only includes static libraries (libbfd.a, libopcodes.a) and not shared libraries (libbfd.so, libopcodes.so) ?

Other binutils packages (e.g. binutils, binutils-arm-linux-gnueabi) include both.
