How do I load the B43-firmware on my PC

On Forefox address bar, type and press ENTER :

apt:/ndisgtk

You need Windows XP Drivers ( .sys .inf )

In software sources check multiverse, universe install b43-fwcutter while you are connect by wire to the router and it will do the download of the firmware for you.

Juan: A message came up that said ndisgtk is already installed.

Leo: I could not find any reference to "multiverse" or "universe install b43-fwcutter" in the directory of Software Sources.???

Goto System>Administration>Software Sources> In the popup it show the boxes you can see them on the screen after the boxes you will see (main) (restricted) (multiverse) (universe), and source code check the boxes. then install b43-fwcutter while you are connected to the router by cat 5 Ethernet.

to install System>Administration>Synaptic Package Manager

search b43-fwcutter check the box to install apply.

I did what you suggested, it Synaptec Mgr shows b43-fwcutter as installed. I did a search on b43 firmware, and I found b43 firmware files.

But, teh b43 firmware is not listed in the Synaptec Manager.

Lower in the Synaptec window, the old bcm43 firmware is listed, adjacent to the bcm43 fwcutter, so I would assume if the b43 firmware files were installed it would be listed in Synaptic mgr.

I can't find a way to install b43 firmware manually using the files, or an exec. file???

Ok install, and firmware isn't there then remove completely by System>Administration>Synaptic Package Manager and reinstall connected to the net or if firmware is install enable it System>Administration>Hardware Drivers enable it.
