still problems with shotwell not importing pics from android 4.3

Asked by juan

Is it possible to have a photo manager that works properly with my galaxy s3 running android 4.3 version.??? shotwell works well sometimes but other times itll never change the "starting import, please wait..." message and not do anything. Im still using 12.04lts with .0.12.3 shotwell version. I unmount the device from nautilus, change from mtp to ptp but is the same. I want to mention that mtp alrady works in nautilus already thanks to a backport..Hope theres an answer to this. I dont want to upgrade until 14.04lts is ready thanks...

Check the file ownership of the file, make sure you are the file owner.

There are a few things you can try to get Shotwell working properly with your Galaxy S3 running Android 4.3.

First, make sure that you have the latest version of Shotwell installed. You can check for updates by going to Help > About Shotwell. If there is an update available, click the Install Update button.

Second, try changing the USB connection mode on your Galaxy S3. To do this, go to Settings > Connections > More connection settings > USB connection and select PTP.
