How to ask for simple change?

Asked by Alfas

Hi,

How do I ask for the simple change? I want to ask to add erasedups in HISTCONTROL in .bashrc by default (I have few other simple ideas that might be useful, but this is the simplest one). It is a simple change. If I remember correctly there used to be something like wish list. However, I can not find it now. Any suggestions how to ask for such change?

Thanks,
Alfas

Report a bug with your fix.

I know I can do this, but this is bad way. It is not a bug, but small improvement. I know that there are "blueprints" but it seems for new features (not just small changes in configuration). I believe there are more people facing the same problem so it would be good to have clear answer with elegant solution.

Run:

ubuntu-bug bash

And you can report your bug for the history duplicates thing etc.

Why would I want to erase dupes when they're being ignored anyway?

The main reason of this question was to find out how to register small change request for Ubuntu. I mentioned history only as an example.
The result is that I was not able to find a way for simple change request and there seems not to be any good answer for this too.

Now for history example ignoredups only ignores duplicated commands that go one after another. If you want to avoid getting duplicates though all history then the best way (and only way) is to use erasedups (exactly what I am asking to add to default profile).

Can you help with this problem?
