Unable to find correct .bashrc file to set classpath!!!!

Asked by arvind das

I was trying to edit my ~/.bashrc file to set PATH to JVM . Last time I tried and was successful but this time when I tried to edit it through "vi" editor it opened a .bashrc file with a lot of text written to it. When tried to edit it previously the /.bashrc file was empty or no test written to it at all. I am unable to understand which bashrc file to edit???

/.bashrc is NOT in youusers home. |/.bashrc is the settings for your user and should be editted to add paths and aliases.

Make sure the .bashrc file you edit is the one in your HOME directory ;]
