For Jamendo integration in Banshee, follow these instructions:
http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2010/11/banshee-gets-jamendo-support/

Try just installing the binary package banshee-community-extensions:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install banshee-community-extensions

Then restart Banshee and see if you're able to use Jamendo. If not, please post again, and include all the text from the Terminal (you can select it all with Edit > Select All, then copy it all with Edit > Copy).

In the future, when posting screenshots, it is considerably easier for me and others rendering assistance if you post a link that is specific to the individual image you're trying to call attention to. So, for the screenshot you just referred to, you could post http://postimage.org/image/1qg0vsqh0/ or even http://s1.postimage.org/8tnwbew3v/Screenshot_5.png. (If you don't know how to get links for individual images, please let me know, and I'll explain.)

I installed the package banshee-community-extensions: from synaptic package manager, as I'm not up to speed with the terminal cli as yet.

I'm now able to play some tracks from jamendo directly in banshee, and some I can't in.There seems to be no reasons for this, and it appears to be very random cross banshee

Jamendo plays correctly when accessed via its own URL in firefox

In regard to this statement Eliah

Please can you post a short script on howto do these steps to my email address

Well, that's an improvement. Let's see if we can get them all to work. Is it random in the sense that the same track will play sometimes but not other times, or is it random in the sense that specific tracks will always play and specific other tracks will always fail to play, but you're not sure what distinguishes the two? If the latter, please specify in detail some tracks that do play and some tracks that don't.

Also, does the same thing happen when you access Jamendo from within Banshee while logged in to another user account on your Ubuntu machine? (I'm talking about an account on your Ubuntu system, not an account on Jamendo.) If you don't have another account, you can create one for testing purposes.

"Please can you post a short script on howto do these steps to my email address"

I can do better--I can explain it here, so that other people can benefit from the knowledge, too.

The only short script I can give is: Go to the image in your web browser and copy the URL in the address bar; to post a *direct* link to the image, right-click on the image and open it (e.g., in a new tab), then post that URL (which is different from the first one). If that doesn't make sense, then a more exhaustive explanation is probably necessary. I've provided one below.

http://postimage.org/roblon2010 (the link you've been posting here) shows all your image galleries. Currently you only have one image gallery, so it only shows the one. Clicking on the image link representing that gallery (http://postimage.org/gallery/1if9opo2w/) shows all the images in the gallery. When you click on the first image in the gallery, you are brought to http://postimage.org/image/1tzjv2pqc/. That URL displays in the address bar of your web browser while you are viewing that page, so just select it, copy it, and paste it. That is a much better way to link someone to that specific image, than by providing http://postimage.org/roblon2010 as the link. Providing http://postimage.org/image/1tzjv2pqc/ is sufficient.

However, if you want to go an extra step, you can post a link to the image itself, rather than to the page that is specific to the image and which shows the image. That way, people can easily use their web browsers' zoom feature to view the entire image or to view the image in full resolution, and can also more easily save the full-quality version of the image to their own computers. To get the link to the image itself, right click on the big image at http://postimage.org/image/1tzjv2pqc/ and click "Open Image in New Tab" (or a similar option, depending on what web browser you are using). Then go to the new tab (or new window, or don't do anything if you opened it in the same tab), which shows the image and has http://s1.postimage.org/8x7faovd7/Screenshot.png in the address bar. You can copy that from the address bar and use that to link people to the image. You know that's probably a direct link to the image because the image is a PNG file and the URL ends in .png (if the image were a JPEG then it would end in .jpg or .jpeg, if it were a bitmap then it would end in .bmp, if it were an SVG then it would end in .svg, and so forth).

Some image hosting sites have a feature where you can view the image at various levels of zoom (implemented by the website by producing multiple, scaled images, rather than through the user's web browser's zoom function). When that is the case, if you're going to link someone directly to the image (i.e., directly to the .png file), you should make sure to link them to the original image rather than any of the scaled-down copies (i.e., to the largest image, rather than one of the smaller ones), as that's the one that preserves all the original information and detail.

On some sites, it is difficult to follow the above instructions, because the sites display images in ways where it's difficult to open the image itself. When that is the case, the site usually provides the person who posted the image with links, often including a direct link to the image. Some sites that don't make it difficult also provide such links, for your added convenience. If you are using a site that prevents even you (the uploader of the image) from getting a direct link to the image (which is not the case with http://postimage.org), then you're best off using a different site (like http://postimage.org).

By the way, you don't actually need to have an account with http://postimage.org to post images (though if you want them collected together, you do). You can just go to http://postimage.org/ and post an image, then post the URL you get. I understand if you want all images pertaining to the same topic to be collected together in a gallery, however.

This posted message in relation to item # 7

When connected as administrator ,and playing banshee I still experience the seem fault. Some tracks will play and some won't.

This is random across any type of music format chosen, rock ,jazz, hip hop etc

On initial start-up and use of banshee, I'm still told that extra plugins are required i.e. application / xml decoder- as stated in previous messages.

The decoder must be there for some tracks to play??

Does it occur with some tracks and not others? Or does it occurs sometimes for the same tracks, but not other times **for those exact same tracks**?

Eliah, this hard to narrow down.As previously stated some tracks will play, while others won't

This is totally random across all musical formats on jamendo while playing within banshee

Are there any **specific tracks** that always play? Are there any **specific tracks** that never play? If so, please provide examples (for each that applies).

(The obvious interpretation of what you have been saying is that yes, there are specific songs that always play and other specific songs that never play. But I find it strange that you have not provided examples, so perhaps I am misunderstanding you.)

The alums I played where as following, and these where selected at random at Jamendo

#1 Quantum Jazz - Hand in Space
#2 Savium - Lethargic Philosophy

These played directly when chosen in jamendo - Please note that I only played the first track of each album only

Albums which failed to play directly, and banshee then played a saved track from the library / "music " within banshee

Failed albums
# 1 Savium - Insane and Serene
#2 macaco mau - blast the cover-up

I'm experiencing the same bug, Banshee doesn't play most of the songs in Jamendo.
I'm using Ubuntu 11.04, Banshee 2.0.0 with banshee-extension-jamendo 2.0.0-1ubuntu1.

The same situation, but I also noticed, that banshee can play only first track in album (at least, for me).

So, I've also seen a message about application/xml decoder and so on. Now I can play only first track in album, if I try to play other tracks, it starts to play other files from my musical collection (Message "Search for suitable plugin" is not displayed anymore).

Can you help with this problem?
