after
  initctl restart unity-panel-service
i have the menus but in ~/.cache/upstart/unity-panel-service.log i see:

(unity-panel-service:2422): Indicator-Appmenu-CRITICAL **: window_menu_model_new: assertion 'BAMF_IS_APPLICATION(app)' failed
