restore point

Asked by suvala

Like XP is there any way to create restore point in ubuntu? If it is there then how to create?
How to restore my system in previous day if I had made unknowingly any harmful changes.

While this idea has been discussed for Ubuntu (for example: http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/1230/), it has never been implemented.

The functionality of Back In Time (http://backintime.le-web.org/) overlaps some with the function of System Restore, so you might find it useful. To get Back In Time, install the package called backintime-gnome. You can do this in the Ubuntu Software Center. If you're running Kubuntu, you'll want to use backintime-kde instead.
