you can un-install the new Azureus Vuze by doing this

System> administration > synaptic

search for vuze and select it for complete removal (un-tick it in the list)

* to install the old one just type this in a terminal

sudo apt-get install vuze

Note that the old version is not compatible with the torrent search page anymore and that is a great problem in the app usability.

Personally i think that the brand new interface v4.0.2 is much easier i downloaded it from this link

http://www.getdeb.net/download/3308/0
you just have to open it with GDebi or just double click on the vuze .deb file

then before you run it you have to give the permission to vuze to access /usr/share/vuze folder by typing this in a terminal

sudo chown -R 777 /usr/share/vuze
and your password :)

Good luck

One thing didn't go well is
i have got the old Vuze now but it keeps on requesting to restart now or restart later i don't really know what heck is wrong still.
ALSO on your explanation to allow permission for vuze access i copied the command as it is on top "sudo chown -R 777 /usr/share/vuze" didn't give me any answer or anything i can see but it ran! and i didnt quite get the -R 777 stands for and the CHOWN could you please explain
thanks again

u can uninstall vuze from synaptic package manager or add or remove
programs. un-tick the icon and click apply at hte top. after it is
uninstalled u can install the previous version by typing in terminal sudo
apt-get install vuze.
HOPE THIS WORKS. BEST OF LUCK.

To get the old interface on new Vuze (also known Azureus) please simply go to Vuze (also known Azureus) menu

Tools → Options → Interface → Start (go to to the end of the options right frame)

Push the button "Show" of the row: Display Vuze UI Chooser

Then select the desired interface and confirm the restart of Vuze

Hope this helps
