How come a bug that crashes program hasn't been addressed?

From 2.5.1 to 2.5.3, the "Add Watermark" feature has been removed, and even attempting to select the area in the menu where it was crashes program to desktop.

I don't use it often, but it's the only program that I know of that used to allow video watermarking. See this video for an example:

The watermark issue has been addressed but the crash issue has not, but yes, this is just how it is. Therefore I am answering my own question with that comment.
