Avant window navigator

Asked by Daniel R. O'Connor

I'm trying to put the avant dock at the bottom of my screen but every time I click on it from the window it says that I need to composite my screen. How do I do that? also How do I enable the universal menu bar? If you can't tell I'm trying to make my computer look like Mac :) I have everything accept for the avant dock and the universal menu bar. Could some one please help me. :)

Oh! I forgot. How do I get the dock to open at start up?

Have you installed video drivers?

AWN *NEEDS* to have compiz running and compiz needs to have 3D drivers running.

If you have not configured video drivers you can run:

lspci | grep -i vga

And websearch from there on how to set it up.

If you have drivers installed ko then you can start compiz by pressing ALT+F2 and run:

compiz --relpace

You can now run AWN as compiz will be running.

To be fair, Awn doesn't *require* compiz. See also:
