audacity 1.3.7 recording problem in Ubuntu

Asked by gustav

Hello everyone! When I try to record via "line in", or "mono/stereo mix", or "capture", using

Audacity 1.3.7, the vertical recording progress line moves 1 sec. then stops and only flickers! A

message from Audacity says that there is a latency problem.

I have been using 1.3.7 for 2 years without a problem in Ubuntu . I think there is an issue with

System > Preferences > Sound, which is not set correctly anymore, plus a latency issue. Could

anyone help me?? - gustav521

Oh yes, I am still using Ubuntu 9.04 "Jaunty", for now. Thank you! -gustav521

Jaunty is not supported in ANY way as it is EOL. Karmic (9.10) is EOL when natty is released, as is Hardy (8.04) on the desktop.

I suggest you upgrade (or clean install) at least Lucid
