Audacious bug when playing mp3

Asked by Housecat

hi guys,
there's a weird bug(s) in audacious release embedded in Intrepid Ibex ^^ (1.5.1)

just installed,
when I try to open a mp3 file(after selecting Audacious as Default Player)double clicking on it,Audacious simply opens a menù(like when I press "L" on the keyboard )to allow me to choose a song...so apparently it ignores my request!

Selecting a song this way,Audacious correctly plays that stuff;but,if I close the program and I try to open another song again clicking twice on the file...Audacious opens playing the previous song that I selected trough the "L"menù!!

Another issue is strictly correlated

If I open Audacious before and then I double click on a file...Audacious works perfectly!I tried many times to select a lot of songs searching for errors just like before but it was flawless.Again, after doing this if I close the program and I choose a new song double clicking on it...Audacious starts playing the previous song(the song that was playing before I shut down the program)

Now(with Audacious opened and that's playing the previous song )if I double click on a new mp3 file...Audacious starts working flawlessy again...and the insane trick restarts!!

bah!

I have the same problem with Audacious.

If Audacious is closed and I double click on a song, it starts the previous song. I have to double click again on the song !

If someone knows how to fix that ;)

So I'm not alone ^^

the strange think is that Audacious itself substantially works...no problem with Settings,Plugins etc
It doesn't seem to be a big issue correlated with the Intrepid package cos I never encountered a crash or freeze or something similar...

It's just a little problem...but very boring!!

P.S. I forgot to explain that the Audacious package(1.5.0 ?) embedded in Hardy works perfect in my case.

Count one more..

I conform this bug,

1. Close audacious if it already opened.
2. Select more than 1 mp3 files.
3. right click->open with->audacious

Now, what we expect is, audacious will play the selected song, but it will open "open" file window and ask us to choose selected files one more time.

a funny thing just happened ^^

5 minutes ago...for curiosity I tried to reinstall Audacious once more on intrepid and...
it just worked perfectly!!I'm stressing it closing it many times or enqueuing stuff but it's flawless..
the only explanation I've got is that there is no (rational)explanation!!

the only element i should underline is that I've got all the repo activated in intrepid(also medibuntu)...I've updated the distro every day until today(I'm writing this post at 8:00 pm Italy time)so I received all the updates until now...

Could anyone try this way if Audacious works?

Flapane,

If you can, update to 8.10, I think, this bug is on dbus, not in Audacious.

Thanks, unfortunately I can't update.
Are we supposed to file a bug for dbus 7.10, then?
There wasn't this problem with older versiosn of audacious, by the way.
