Runs more slowly in Mint

On my system, the atari800 emulator app runs significantly more slowly in Linux Mint 17.1 vs. Ubuntu 14.10. This app runs well in Ubuntu, and I'd like to use it in Mint. I have an AMD Athlon II X2 255 dual core processor, 4 GB ram, and an NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE video card. I've checked that I'm using the same video driver and other system settings. There is a slight app version difference: 3.1 for Ubuntu and 3.0 for Mint, so I tried using version 3.1 in Mint by downloading it from the Ubuntu website, but that didn't help. Is my system just too slow for Mint run this properly?

Mint is not supported by the Ubuntu community in any way. It's support community is entirely separate from Ubuntu's. I suggest you post on the Mint forum.
