Install aqemu 0.8.2.1 in Ubuntu 10.04? (0.7.3.1 has a nasty bug)

Asked by Jim (JR) Harris

It appears that the package "aqemu" (0.7.3.1) has a nasty bug where it is unable to find USB port information.

Viz.: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=3011540&group_id=229794&atid=1078458

The fix to this is in aqemu 0.8.n - with the most current version being 0.8.2.1 (as per the aqemu web site - see URL above)

This version appears to be available to downstream versions of Ubuntu - (natty? maverick? I saw it in one of these places.)

I have tried mightily to change, add, munge, mangle, fold, spindle, and mutilate my repository list to get that version without success. This is especially important to me as the whole reason for moving from M$'s Hyper-V to kvm/kvm-qemu was to gain USB support. Now I get here and I get nothing. Repeated searches on the web have proved fruitless.

I would very much like to get this version of aqemu, but I need to know HOW to get it, WHERE to get it from and, (if necessary), what special steps I need to take to get it installed.

Thanks!

Jim (JR)

I suggest you report a bug so the new version is brought into the opfficial repos.

Even Oneiric has 0.8.1-1 so the bug report should move the new version in
