Waiting for new version without bug 588875

Asked by Thorsten Huber

Hey there,

please refer to this pages:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu-kvm/+bug/588875
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=3011540&group_id=229794&atid=1078458

There are several new versions of AQEMU released since then but there is still no version available in the upstream. Please provide the new files.

Thank you.

As far as I konw If ty you are running Ubuntu 10.04 or earlier in your current distribution a bug that is no treat to security won't be fixed: Ubuntu is no rolling distro that updates programs when they are released but rather creates new releases on a regular basis, lets everybody who dares test them --- and releases them officially as soon as they are stable. This approach makes the system rather stable - but makes it lag half a year behind the features you need sometimes.

...the beta of ubuntu 10.10 currently contains qemu 0.12.4. Don't know if they want to upgrade it to 0.12.5, and don't know if that is new enough, though.

Thank you for this information. qemu-kvm 0.12.3 is OK for me. I am talking about AQEMU 0.7.3-1 which is contained in the actual Ubuntu 10.04 release. The bug mentioned above is solved in new versions. But this version of AQEMU is unusable since Ubuntu 10.04 because USB support is broken.

In my opinion it is worth to think about providing a fixed version from the reposititory.
