What ever happened to using ppa's in apturl?

Asked by Kenny Stier

In the man page, it mentions being able to install a package from a ppa using apturl. It then says that it has been disable due to security concerns. Is there any way to enable this capability somewhere?

Could use the add-apt-repository command in terminal to add PPAs until you get an answer. It's not hard to use.

Yes, but I need to be able to trigger a request to add a ppa using an apt:// url
I've used add-apt-repository many times.
