First, see if this fixes the problem, and if not, post all the information from it--including all the text from the Terminal--here (i.e., don't create a new question for it, as you have already created this question):
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PackageManagerTroubleshootingProcedure

If that doesn't fix the problem, then there are two more commands for you to run, which will produce additional valuable information--please run these commands too (one after the other), before selecting all the text from the Terminal (Edit > Select All), copying it to the clipboard (Edit > Copy), and pasting it here for examination:

apt-cache policy ttf-mscorefonts-installer
cat /etc/apt/sources.list; echo; ls /etc/apt/sources.list.d

(For each of those two commands, you should copy and paste it into the Terminal, rather than typing it, so as to avoid typos.)
