There seems to be a programming error in aptdaemon, no update, install and I'm a noob!!!

Asked by Christ Catnap on 2011-01-05

"There seems to be a programming error in aptdaemon, the software that allows you to install/remove software and to perform other package management related tasks. Please report this error at http://launchpad.net/aptdaemon/+filebug and retry."

Did as the message requested, decided also to place it here, just in case anyone as clueless as me stubbles across it.

Just upgraded from 10.4, it ran great, should never have done it

There seem to be a bug with the above mentioned, can't install applications using aptdaemon in Ubuntu Software Centre, it keeps asking u to authenticate your password, and just take a long time b4 the screen disappears, but it doesn't install.
Update Manager also has a bug. Can download patches but can't install them. Got to manually install n update in terminal mode, as I mention in my last post a day back. Will there b fixes in the next update?

Due to a loss of Internet access through the 10.10 Ubuntu OS, I erased the partitions and re-installed the 10.4 OS prior to receiving Mr. Rijckenbergs' request for more information.

Be assured that I'll be installing the 10.10 Ubuntu within a separate partition.

Alas, this will not be an upgrade, and I cannot predict whether the former failure will resurface.

If it does....I will not hesitate to follow the reporting "trouble shooting procedure" as linked by Mark, and provide that information here.

Just as soon as I figure out whether or not the ISO image will boot, and solve a GPU issue that was not a previous issue with 10.4

Thank You, there is much more where this can from.

Can you help with this problem?
