Dependecies are not satisfiable

tried installing software from www.getdeb.net and most of the software I downloaded, i was unable to install and i had an error message like dependecy not satisfiable. I want to know if there is anyway i can solve this problem and where can I get authentic Ubuntu/Linux software to download?

well use synaptic package manager you will find there all the software you need.

You can use apt-get to get most of the software, for stuff from GetDeb you can:

sudo dpkg -i downloaded_package.deb
sudo apt-get -f install

That shoud fix all dependencies
