Resolution change in Ubuntu Mate 18.04

Asked by Malathi on 2019-08-05

I'm using Ubuntu Mate 18.04 in Raspberry Pi 3b+. My display window is too large , please help me to minimize the screen resolution. I followed some methods suggested in internet

1. I changed the screen resolution using "sudo raspi-config" . I have tried all the resolutions in screen resolution option(including Default, CEA, DMT)

2. I changed the disable_overscan=1 in /boot/config.txt

3. I tried to change manually for resolution in display settings.

But still I didn't get the screen resolution changed.

Help me to solve this.

Thanks for your reply, I got the following output:

"sudo lshw -C display; lsb_release -a; uname -a; xrandr"

So I'm guessing the resolution is too low and everything is really big? Is this the case?
Is the OS fully updated?

Yes,the screen is very big.
I have updated os fully now and again changed the screen resolution using "sudo raspi-config",but screen resolution is not changed.
