update manager won't run

when running synaptic package manager, an error occrred:

E: Type '--2009-03-24' is not known on line 1 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list
E: The list of sources could not be read.
Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem.
E: -cache->open() failed, please report.

please can anyone help? Thank you.

Hello, do this command in terminal

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list

And please paste the output to here ...

I think you need to add the medibuntu repositories?

I followed your instruction in terminal.

A window open and this is what's shown:

I followed your instruction, downloaded the medibuntu repositories from the website and add it. Now the synaptic package manager can open. thank you for your help.

Your medibuntu repository has invalid contents, it contains a wget log, not the actual repository information. Please remove it with:
sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list

If you *do* want to use Medibuntu, please follow the link Tom gave.
