Ubuntu software not booting after changing motherboard

Asked by VINITA

I had a hardware issue in the Dell system and the motherboard, LCD cable and LCD screens were changed. Now hardware is working fine but Ubuntu software is not loading. it says:

BusyBox v1.21.1(Ubuntu 1:1.21.0-1ubuntu1) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

(initramfs) Unable to find a medium containing live file system

The whole screen is black and only these above commands are seen in white letters.

Please help , how can I get back Ubuntu software up and working?

Regards,

Vinita

The drives may have a different UUID now. You may need to boot to ubuntu live CD / USB and chroot to the installed OS and sort out GRUB from there.

OmgUbuntu has a guide called "Sticking it to GRUB" which should help.

Can you help with this problem?
