Save the new file. Close gedit and run :

sudo apt-get update

Is it now smooth?

Hi actionparsnip,

Are you sure about that /etc/apt/sources.list change?

I looked at the following website which has not been updated since the year 2006:

http://mambo.kuhp.kyoto-u.ac.jp/~takushi/#canon

On that site, they recommend replacing

deb http://mambo.kuhp.kyoto-u.ac.jp/~takushi/ubuntu raring

with

deb http://mambo.kuhp.kyoto-u.ac.jp/~takushi/ubuntu ./

in the /etc/apt/sources.list file.

If this configuration line replacement does not help, then I recommend removing the line in /etc/apt/sources.list to get rid of the package manager error.

Regards,

Mark
