Software Updater Troubleshooting Procedure Terminal Output

Asked by Ricky Seltzer

Software Updater has not done anything but complain for about a week. Today I had the red triangle warning at the top of the
screen. Ubuntu 13.04 64-bit Intel i3.

This output looks normal to me. I cant see any errors or warnings.

Do you still have a problem?

If no then please mark the question solved to close it.

If yes what is the problem -- provide details of any error messages. We will try to advise further

The message has changed from "Please check your internet connection" to "The software on this computer is up to date".

It is possible that this is now true, and there aren't any updates. Is there a way I can check that I am really up to date?

Did the troubleshooting procedure really download and install a week's worth of updates? Happy to close this if so.

Oh, and the red triangle is gone. This is a good sign?

It sounds like its now fixed.

The troubleshooting procedure often fixes all issues.

You can run "Software Updater" if you wish to confirm. But I'd say its fixed

apt says you're up to date, and the disappearance of the red triangle indicates the script fixed you up (I'm guessing it was a corrupt list file, which happens frequently).

Depending on what you have installed, there may not have been updates in the past week to Raring. My Raring VM only had a couple of updates (to libxml2) recently.

Thanks Daniel Letzeisen, that solved my question.
