Problem with updating 11.10

following the instructions here:

My initial problem was two unmet dependences for firefox menu bar and thunderbird, these i believe will resolve when i am able to update to the latest firefox package.

I keep running into the same problem when depmod attempts to run. There were errors at each run of depmod as you will be able to tell from the paste below. any assistance would be great. Please bear in mind that i am a complete novice with linux and this ubuntu installation is my migration from windows so i am not familiar with the terminology.
