I use Ubuntu 10.10: but what happens went they no longer support it?!

I love this version and so do my dad and we do not want to upgrade so what happen went they no longer support it?

The OS will continue to run but you will get no updates, no support here and no suport in the official irc channels.

you won't get updates. still if you are a geek, you can install newer versions of the softwares manually by downloading the softwares and compiling them while some software are available in the .deb format, that are pretty simple to install as in windows. for others, you have to compile them.
