ubuntu 11.04 cannot install new software due package install error on firmware-b43-installer

why can't I install LibreOfficeBase or OpenOffice Base..?

What have you done to try and install them? What error messages have you received?

Best way to install LibreOffice Base is to open Ubuntu Software Centre, search for LibreOffice Base, select it, click Install.

I have the same problem wit LibreOffice Base 3.3 in Ubuntu 11.04.
When I try to un-install I got this:
Reading database ... 178125 files and directories currently installed.)
Removing libreoffice ...
Setting up firmware-b43-installer (4.150.10.5-5) ...
Not supported low-power chip with PCI id 14e4:4315!
Aborting.
dpkg: error processing firmware-b43-installer (--configure):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
No apport report written because MaxReports is reached already
Errors were encountered while processing:
 firmware-b43-installer
Setting up firmware-b43-installer (4.150.10.5-5) ...
Not supported low-power chip with PCI id 14e4:4315!
Aborting.

try this http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1708865 seems from terminal the command:

sudo dpkg --purge -a

Solve...

Then after type:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install libreoffice-base
