Jaunty armv5t mirror has been removed ....

Asked by Alain SAURAT

I use a Sheevaplug with armv5 processor and a version of jaunty have been installed in it.

Yesterday, during maintenance operation, I have to format the nand chip in the plug and so re-install the original jaunty file system.

Now my problem is that I can't found any repository to install somes utilities like 'nano', 'aptitude', etc, etc.

The URL 'ports.ubuntu.com' contains only packages for hardy, karmic, lucid, maverick and oneiric but all for arm v7...

Is there another URL to found old Jaunty repository with armv5 packages or somebody have kept a personnal mirror of it ???

thanks in advance, alain

Jaunty is no longer supported in any way. It is end of life (eol). You should upgrade to at least Lucid for support and upgrades.

Lucid and newer versions support only arm v7 processors and My sheeva plug is based on Marvell Kirkwood which is arm v5.

So, I have just to trash my sheevaplug.... or to install Debian Squeeze (Sniff, bye bye Ubuntu)

I had the same problem, and having now bought a second plug (Tonido) for an important project I'm working am unable to setup my plug again. Is there no repository or mirror available anywhere ??????

I didn't found any !!!

Now I am installing Debian squeeze in an USB key, and after that I try to flash the filesystem into the nand in UBIFS format.

Some hours of pleasure....

Thanks, Manfred, I download it and then I can see is there is enought packages in it to create a filesystem for my Sheeva.

All plugcomputer's users have the same problem, this kind of computer is initialy installed with Jaunty and all the updates run fine for 2 years.

But now, as this version is not updated for armv5 architecture, we prefer turn to debian Lenny, Squeeze or in some months Wheezy.

Theses plugs are used as web, ftp and ssh server so we need some safety ....
