Unhandable Error Occured

Asked by Brennan Savage

Every time i try to install from the software center it gives me this error.

An Handleable Error has Occurred
There seems to be a programming error in aptdaemon, the software that allows you to install/remove software and to perform other package management related tasks. Please report this error at http://launchpad.net/aptdaemon/+filebug and retry.

i just installed this onto my hard drive. I have had this error before and so I quit using Ubuntu but I want to fix it now.

Let me know what to do to fix it. I am new to ubuntu so go slow with me.

EDIT: I'm running 10.10. It was working great until I installed macbuntu then it stopped working. The update won't work it says something like cant get lock or something. Ill post in between classes. I tried to upgrade to 11.04 alpha and I got an error message from that. Last time this happened to me it was after installing macbuntu so I think that may be the problem. Ill also try the codes provided inbetween class or tomorrow. (Physics test tonight, taking up all my time.)

Can you tell us what version of Ubuntu are you using?

Also open the teminal (Ctrl+Alt+t+) and try this command:

  sudo apt-get update

Please paste the output in the Pastebin (http://paste.ubuntu.com) and give us the link.

I added my version and some other things. I may just uninstall it and then reinstall 10.04. Is that better or am I doing something to mess it up maybe?

If you do not have data to backup and custom configurations it would help if you re-install.

Can you help with this problem?
