Should wiki be updated?

Asked by anatoly techtonik

Apport wiki page - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Apport - is immutable, so I can't edit. In particular bzr command is outdated and it is not clear how to send patches, such as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1502173/comments/3

Ubuntu 11.10 info can be archived also.

Read the wiki. The last line is what you need..

@cjwatson made the last edit - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Apport?action=diff&rev1=71&rev2=72 - but there is no evidence that this user locked the page. It was probably made by admins, and it is up to project owners to decide if it was the right decision or not.

I add @cjwatson to CC.

I didn't lock it, and I don't see any evidence that it's locked either. The bzr command looks OK to me aside from using the deprecated "get" synonym (which I've fixed).

The wiki got locked down because of spammers, now people have to be a member of https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-wiki-editors to make edits

Actually my last statement may have been wrong as it gives me the option to edit but it might be that another membership makes me part of ubuntu-wiki-editors

@cjwatson, the whole page needs a revamp. It looks too outdated with inline info about Ubuntu 11.10 and earlier. Why everybody still need to read that? It also lacks info how to really send fixes and how to update this page.

I don't feel any particular ownership of the page, and I'm afraid I do not have time for a complete revamp of it. I'm unsubscribing from this question now.

Well, I guess it can't be helped.
