Lubuntu bug reporting?

Asked by turbolad

I need to report a bug in Lubuntu. I can't find where to report Lubuntu bugs.

I'm very happy to use Lubuntu on the netbook, but when I turn off the "tap to click" and "edge scrolling" on the touchpad, the settings are never "remembered". I've used synclient in the LXTerminal and various other programs without luck.

Please help.

Thank you. :)

You can report bugs in Lubuntu the same way as in Ubuntu. Please make sure to read https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs carefully first. Please note that it is almost always preferable to initiate a bug report with Apport than by clicking "Report a bug" on Launchpad. Besides being configurable to automatically gather and submit information about crashes (which you might want to enable, in case your current bug is related to a crash you are not seeing -- see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Apport), you can initiate the process of reporting non-crash bugs with Apport in such a way that valuable information is included and/or attached to your report with Help > Report a Bug or by invoking ubuntu-bug with the PID of the affected process, or (less preferably) by invoking ubuntu-bug with the name of the affected package. This will all make way better sense after you read ReportingBugs.

If you've read that and you're unsure what package to report this bug against, I recommend posting a new question about that at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu.

If you report a bug that especially affects Lubuntu and Lubuntu Packages Team (https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-packaging) is not listed in the subscribers list on the right (make sure to check in the list under "May be notified"), then you can subscribe that team to the bug.

(Note: I'm keeping bug 886431 linked to this question, in case it is helpful to that's bug's author...who is not the same person as this question's OP. But bug 886431 really only has to do with this question in that it is a Lubuntu bug and this question is about how to report Lubuntu bugs.)

Can you help with this problem?
